MARIA ROMERO
Systems Architecture Fellow
Maria C. Romero is a forward-looking innovator who creates system architectures for Federal agencies to help them strategize and position themselves to utilize optimal assets from space and ground to meet mission and warfighter needs. By keeping abreast of latest technological trends in systems engineering, systems modeling and simulation, space and ground assets help to revolutionize how these methodologies along with respective assets can be optimally positioned to achieve national security objectives.
Maria is currently a Systems Architecture Fellow at Assured Consulting Solutions. She has earned a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Central Florida (UCF), a M.S. in Systems Engineering from Johns Hopkins University (JHU), a M.S. in Engineering & Management from Florida Technological University, International M.B.A from Nova Southeastern University, and a LLM Certificate in Air and Space Law from the University of Mississippi. She has received several awards throughout her career, including the Hero Award from the CEO of The Aerospace Corporation (2022), Spot Award from The Director of WHCA (March 2010), Space Flight Awareness Award from the Director of NASA & Boeing (August 2001), and the Space Flight Awareness Team Award from the Director of NASA in June of 2001. Her current research interests include additive manufacturing (AM), Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), space situational awareness (SSA), space protection, RF spectrum management, and maritime, air, and space law.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Maria is a proud mom of three girls and an enthusiastic piano player. She likes to acquire knowledge in various areas outside of her technical arena like asset protection and international laws and finds joy in drawing and painting in her free time to include animation and robotics.
