Most companies claim to work hard & play hard.

We do that too (within normal business hours) and we take employee well-being very seriously. Because people do their best work when they’re rested, engaged, and passionate about what they do.

That’s a fact.

Inclusion is key to our success.
We're a talented, proud, diverse cast of characters from all walks of life.
An inclusive work environment and employee resource groups help us keep it that way.

Find your happy place @ ACS.
We believe that everyone should love where they work.
Some places are just easier to love than others. We're proud to say that we're one of those places

We're always improving.
We bring out the best in our colleagues, and the missions we support, by pushing each beyond
what we believe we're capable of. We give honest feedback, even when it's hard.

ACS is a place where exceptional people work.
We are proud to offer all of the industry-standard benefits you’d expect, plus a few you might not, like Discretionary Time Off and a paid Day of Advocacy.

Health & Wellness

Comprehensive health coverage and health and wellness programs are designed to keep you and your family healthy.

  • Medical insurance covers you and your eligible family members, including domestic partners and their children, through three national-level health plans. Medical insurance is provided through Cigna. All plans offer prescription drug coverage and access to virtual on-demand doctors.

  • Dental insurance options through Principal Dental provide access to in- and out-of-network providers, coverage for major dental work, and orthodontia for children and adults.

  • Vision coverage is offered through VSP to help you see your best.

  • Healthcare Flexible Spending Accounts let you set aside pre-tax dollars for eligible medical, dental, vision, mental health, and pharmacy expenses. ACS allows up to $640 of excess annual healthcare FSA funds to be carried over to the following plan year.

  • Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts let you set aside pre-tax dollars for eligible dependent care expenses for qualified dependents.

  • 24/7 Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides confidential assessments and referrals to help deal with personal issues that could affect your health, family, or job performance. All benefits-eligible employees are eligible to receive three complimentary face-to-face sessions with a behavioral counselor, a benefit that can be shared with family members.

Financial & Survivor Benefits

Benefits should provide you with peace of mind, support you and your family, and help you successfully navigate life events. We took all these factors into account when we developed our financial and survivor benefits.

  • Basic Term Life insurance is provided—at no cost to you—up to two times your annual base salary, up to a maximum of $500,000.

  • Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance is provided—at no cost to you—up to two times your annual base salary, up to a maximum of $500,000.

  • Travel Assistance protection is provided—at no cost to you—through Cigna. Available 24 hours per day, this coverage assists you with emergency situations while traveling and offers helpful pre-departure services.

  • Short-term Disability insurance is provided—at no cost to you—and provides income replacement if you become unable to work due to medical disability. Short-term disability covers 60% of your annual base salary up to a maximum of $1,500 per week for up to 13 weeks following the first week of disability due to sickness, or day one of disability due to an accident.

  • Voluntary Short-term Disability, administered by Aflac, allows you to increase your total income replacement while disabled up to 72% (in total) of your annual base salary. Since this is a voluntary benefit, you are responsible for the cost of this added coverage.

  • Long-term Disability insurance is provided—at no cost to you—and provides income replacement if you are unable to work due to a medical disability for more than 90 days. Long-term disability begins to pay benefits on your 91st day of disability and covers 60% of your annual base salary up to a maximum of $10,000 per month.

Retirement

ACS cares about your financial well-being, which includes having the financial resources to enjoy life once you retire. The 401(k) Plan helps you prepare for retirement. You can grow your account by making contributions and receiving matching contributions (if eligible) from the company in the 401(k) Plan. You decide how to invest your account, and your investments may grow tax-free until you take money out of the plan.

  • Your contributions. You can contribute 1% to 90% of your base pay (up to IRS limits) on a pre-tax and Roth after-tax basis. You can also contribute additional catch-up contributions, up to IRS limits, if you are age 50 or older in 2019.

  • Company matching. ACS matches dollar for dollar when you contribute on a pre-tax or Roth after-tax basis, up to the first 3% of your contribution, and 50% of the next 2%, for a total of 4%.

  • Vesting. You are always 100% vested in—have full rights to—any contributions you make to the 401(k) plan. You are also fully vested in the company’s matching contributions.

  • Profit sharing. During years when ACS exceed profit targets, profit sharing is considered. Vesting of company profit sharing contributions occur after three years of service.

  • Both passive and active investment options with a wide selection of funds are available.

  • Investment advice is available to all ACS employees from John Hancock and Edward Jones.

Time Off

  • Discretionary Time Off (DTO). At ACS, your hard work is recognized. In order to give our best and live a well-balanced life, we all need to take time off for rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation. We also believe that you should take responsibility for managing your own time and to collaborate and openly communicate with your management to support one another whenever possible. To that end, we’ve adopted a leave policy where each eligible regular full-time employee is afforded the flexibility to take planned time off as needed. DTO is not an “unlimited leave” policy, but a discretionary leave policy whereby sick and vacation time can be requested and taken by employees as needed.

  • Paid Parental Leave. Our Parental Leave Program gives ACS parents additional flexibility and time to bond with their new child and adjust to their new family situation. Flexibility and family-friendly policies are essential to cultivating an atmosphere where ACS employees can thrive professionally without sacrificing essential family obligations.

  • Paid Day of Advocacy. All regular full-time and part-time ACS employees are offered paid leave to support a cause, program, charity, or policy of their choice. Regular full-time employees receive 8.0 hours per calendar year, while regular part-time employees receive 4.0 hours per calendar year. Advocacy leave may be taken incrementally and may be taken during the normal workday.

  • Holidays. ACS observes eleven (11) federal-recognized holidays and pays employees for the time off on these days in accordance with eligibility requirements. Regular full-time employees who are scheduled to work at least 30 hours per week will be paid for holidays not observed on Saturday or Sunday provided they work the regular day before and after the holiday; Discretionary Time Off (DTO) may be used in conjunction with a holiday.

During annual training, full-time employees scheduled to work at least 30 hours per week who are serving will be paid up to eighty (80) hours of regular pay annually. At the conclusion of the leave and within five (5) years, and upon the satisfaction of certain conditions, an employee generally has a right to return to the same position the employee held prior to the leave or to a position with like duties, status, and pay that the employee is qualified to perform.

  • Bereavement Leave. In the event of death in the immediate family, eligible employees scheduled to work at least 30 hours per week may be granted up to three (3) days off with pay to attend to funeral matters. • Jury Duty Leave. ACS pays regular full-time and regular part-time employees up to one full week of pay for jury duty.

Voluntary / Supplemental Benefits

ACS offers a range of voluntary benefits to make sure employees have the protection they need. These benefits are voluntary, which means employees pay the full cost (pre-tax) of the coverage if they choose to enroll. However, employees have access to discounted rates through ACS.

  • Accident Insurance, administered by Aflac, ensures that employees are prepared for life’s unexpected mishaps. In the event of an unexpected injury, Aflac offers ACS employees and their family affordable insurance that helps with expenses that may not be covered by major medical insurance. Aflac pays cash benefits directly to the employee, so the cash can be used for anything you want.

  • Critical Care Protection, administered by Aflac, helps provide financial peace of mind if you experience a serious health event, such as a heart attack or stroke. Enrolled employees receive a lump sum benefit upon diagnosis of a covered event with additional benefits to be paid for things such as a hospital confinement, intensive care unit confinement, ambulance, transportation, lodging, and therapy. All benefits are paid directly to the employee, unless otherwise assigned, and can be used for any out-of-pocket expenses such as car payments, mortgage or rent payments, or utility bills. Critical Care Protection pays $7,500 upon diagnosis of having had a specified health event, which increases to $10,000 for dependent children. It pays $300 per day for covered hospital stays with daily benefits payable for covered hospital intensive care unit and step-down intensive care unit confinements. The policy pays benefits for physical therapy, speech therapy, rehabilitation therapy, home health care, and much more.

  • Personal Cancer Indemnity Insurance. Despite the best efforts of doctors, researchers, and countless organizations, cancer remains a concern for many individuals and families. People from all walks of life are at risk, regardless of age, gender, or ethnic background. Aflac’s Personal Cancer Indemnity insurance policy helps you focus on getting well instead of being distracted by the stress and costs of medical and personal bills. Enrolled employees receive cash benefits directly, giving them the flexibility to help pay bills related to treatment like deductibles, co-payments, and travel expenses. Aflac can also help with everyday living expenses, such as car payments, mortgage or rent payments, child care, and utility bills. The coverage is portable, which means it goes with you if you change jobs; it is guaranteed-renewable, meaning as long as your premiums are paid, your coverage is guaranteed; and the policy has no deductibles, co-payments, or network restrictions—you choose your own medical treatment provider.

  • Hospital Insurance, administered by Aflac helps with the expenses not covered by major medical, which can help prevent high deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses from derailing life’s plans. The program pays benefits when a covered person requires hospital confinement for a covered sickness or injury, whether for rehabilitation, in the ER, or the ICU.

Other Benefits

  • Adoption Assistance. ACS reimburses eligible employees up to a maximum of $2,500 of "qualified adoption expenses" for the adoption of an eligible child or children. There is a limit of up to two (2) adoptions per household for the lifetime of employment with ACS. If two siblings are adopted simultaneously, this is considered as one adoption for the household and up to $2,500 of reimbursement is allowed for each of the two children adopted at that time. The $2,500 maximum reimbursement for one eligible child is an aggregate rather than an annual amount, even if the expenses occur over a period of years.

  • Commuter Benefits. If you commute to your workplace each day, ACS will help you make the journey more convenient and affordable. ACS offers access to a Commuter Reimbursement Account (CRA) through Ameriflex where you can opt to set aside pre-tax dollars to put towards eligible transportation and parking expenses. These tax-advantaged accounts can help you save up to 30% on your everyday commuting expenses. Eligible expenses include parking, mass transit passes, and limited commuter highway vehicle (vanpool) expenses. Ameriflex has partnerships with two of the nation’s leading transportation services, allowing you to use your tax-free dollars to pay for vanpool rides with uberPOOL and Lyft Line where available.

  • 529E College Savings Plan. With tuition costs rising faster than inflation, many students need assistance paying for their education. To help you save for this important goal, ACS offers you a CollegeAmerica 529 plan as part of your voluntary benefits package. With no up-front sales charges, low plan costs, and greater flexibility, ACS is proud to help you invest in your—and your beneficiaries’—future and education.
