On Friday March 3, 2017, Assured Consulting Solutions (ACS) Managing Partners, Erin Briska and Mandy Parmer, were each presented with the Patriot Award by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). The Patriot Award recognizes managers and supervisors for their support of military service member employees. The ESGR Patriot Awards were presented by Ms. Geambro L. Hollis, MSgt, USAFR (Retired), and Area Chairman of ESGR Northern Virginia. Ms. Briska and Ms. Parmer were each nominated for the Patriot Award for their support of ACS employee, Matt Spurgeon. SSgt Spurgeon serves as an Air National Guardsman with the 193rd Special Operations Wing, 271st Combat Communications Squadron in Fort Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania. In the nomination, ACS’ generous military leave program and the steadfast support Matt and his family received from ACS while he was deployed were noted. Ms. Briska and Ms. Parmer were honored to be nominated for and recipients of this award, which reflects the efforts made to support Citizen Warriors through a wide range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absences.
ACS also formally renewed its Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve, pledging to give managers the tools they need to effectively support employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve; to encourage employment opportunities for active, transitioning, and veteran service members; and to continually recognize and support service members and their families in peace, in crisis, and in war.
Military life can be unpredictable, dynamic, and challenging not only for service members, but also for their families. ACS is committed to doing everything we can to support our heroes.
